I would like to say a huge thank you to all the landlords and other guests that attended the buy to let seminar on Wednesday night arranged and hosted by Sarah Johnston of Homes4Harrogate. It was a well attended event and everyone found it both informative and enjoyable.
There has been a lot of negative press recently regarding buy to let and rental property. This has meant that a lot of landlords are now considering whether it is still a viable option. The aim of my seminar was to re-assure those affected and explain the changes and how to deal with them. I can confidently say that we managed it and our guests left happy.
We started the evening at 6pm at Hotel du Vin, Harrogate with Voakes pork pie nibbles and a gin reception. Sarah then took to the floor to present on recent legislative changes affecting landlords. Rick Sherman from Howard Matthews Partnership then brought everyone up to date on the recent tax changes that apply to BTL and reassured us that all is not doom and gloom. I then presented on the changes to buy to let mortgages affecting portfolio landlords. After our presentations we then stayed for further networking in the bar.
